At Dua Therapy, we believe that meaningful change happens when care is both evidence-based and deeply human.

About the Founder,  

​I am Maheema Dua, a Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from McGill University.

 

I support individuals in navigating heartbreak, attachment, and relationship patterns, including the inner conflicts of feeling “too much” or “not enough.”

 

I also work with ADHD, anxiety, complex trauma, chronic illness, and acculturative stress.

 

I use a person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach, grounded in compassionate relational work.

 

My goal is to offer you support that empowers you in creating a life that feels healthy, purposeful, and joyful.

Expat Counselling

Expat counselling supports people living outside their home country as they face the challenges of navigating life abroad, away from familiar roots.

 

This can be a good fit for you if you feel:

  • Visa, career, relationship, or family stress

ADHD Coaching

Coaching offers a practical, strengths-based support for individuals with ADHD or ADHD-like traits, helping you build confidence and improve everyday functioning.

This can be a good fit if you need help with:

  • Procrastination and time management

  • Emotional regulation and rejection sensitivity

  • Low self-esteem

  • Sleep issues

  • If you suspect ADHD and would like a screening or support in reaching a formal diagnosis.​

Individual Psychotherapy

A one-to-one therapeutic process that draws from different evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, IFS, etc. with a focus on developing safety, choice, and nervous system awareness.​​​​​​​
